Well, I signed up to be a part of Weatherbug’s Backyard, weatherbug’s PWS implementation. My data is flowing correctly, but just not sure how I can get the data to start showing up in the desktop weatherbug just yet. I do see my data here, and it is near “real time” in case you are interested.

I may even start to work with the ACON group and send my monthly weather data to them, still considering that though.

I decided to give Sensodyne Iso-Active a go a little less than a month ago, since I have a sore tooth and was waiting for a dentist appointment to fix it. Well the toothpaste seems to work very well at relieving my tooth pain which was getting a little bothersome. It does create a bubbly goop in your mouth and does get to every spot in your mouth rather well. My issue with the toothpaste was the cost running around $7 for a smaller than normal space-age press button tube of this stuff, I did have a $1 off coupon so it wasn’t so bad I guess. Then I pressed the button today and barely any toothpaste came out. Granted I brush my teeth twice a day, but I was the only one using the paste and it only lasted me a month, my wife and two sons continued to use a standard toothpaste and it is still going strong. So I am not sold on the value of the toothpaste being very high, although it did solve my tooth pain for a while.

Dec 302009 is an incredible piece of software. It takes a Windows Quick Launch bar and gives it a shot of steroids! Giving you the ability to add items to the bar like a clock, network status, battery status, key state (Num Lock etc), calendars, CPU utilization (up to 4 cores), Custom Menus, Media Player controls, and so very much more. Costing about $20 this software is well worth its price. Right now, until January 10th, he is even offering a 30% discount. Notice I said he, that is another of the great things about this software, the developer is VERY active in the forums and open to suggestions. If you have any problems with the software, he is the first one to try to help you. I have been using this software for many years now and have never found anything better.

I just wanted to blog about something that I feel is extremely good, Buffalo Wing Sauce. I have tried a number of them, but one of them is very close to being the best flavor and that is Franks Buffalo Wing sauce. The flavor is incredible and the vinegar taste is perfect. I want to try the Hot version but I have yet to do that.

You can pick it up at Costco right now I believe for like $7 for two 32 ounce bottles. Here is the website

Enjoy for New Years!!

I have had the privilege of having the ability to test many different automation tools in my many years of working on computers. From the very simple macro tools which can automate simple typing and clicking and some other simple things, like Robotask and MacroToolworks, to the very complex which can actually download files at set times, inject SQL statements on a SQL server, like Automize and (the point of this blog) VisualCron. VisualCron’s website is over at Their website is very professional and full of information. Since I am a simple home user of this software currently I would have to say the price is fairly stiff at $197 for a single server, but to be fair, in a business environment the value of the software far outweighs the price. This software can do just about anything you can imagine. The features are very well documented on the website, Some of the features that the software has include, the ability to execute applications (either locally or on a server), perform FTP/FTPS/SFTP functions of all types, perform backups and copies of files, compress files and folders through Zip/Tar/GZIP, encrypt and decrypt files, and even execute macros from within Microsoft Office applications. That is just a small subset of the features available in the program as there are plenty of other features like scheduling, flow control, plenty of notifications, and a large amount of other things available.

Now let us cover the interface of the program, it is a very pretty application, it makes use of an Office 2007 style ribbon at the top and a very nice implementation of themes. This app is one of the prettiest I have seen. It is very easy to use this software, it almost leads you to creating the “cron job”. Creating a job is rather intuitive, for the simple ones I have made, although I am quite sure that it gets more complicated to make them as the job gets more complicated.

Support is another aspect of applications that needs to be looked at, I cannot speak to the support of the staff at visualcron first hand, but what I can say is that they have created a rather active forum to help to address any issues that you may have, and someone may have already addressed that on their own and could help you with the issue themselves, that is if the staff do not help you first. They have plenty of documentation and tutorials to help you get acclimated to the software. They even have downloadable help files in pdf and windows help file so you can get help without the internet.

I hope that This review of a great piece of software helps you make a decision whether or not to buy it, but I do think the website is the best place for information about this software. Remember the website for VisualCron is

Have a great day!

Notepad++ is a great FREE Windows Notepad replacement. Giving you multiple tabs for files and also has many different plugins extending the usage of the text editor by quite a bit, including file compare and many others. Notepad++ also color codes text if you are coding in one of the many built in programming languages including PHP and HTML and MANY others. Try it for yourself and see what I mean.
